UPDATE JULY 28, 2020:

 

You know that for the past 8 years, we’ve stood for wellness, community, and embodied practices for wellbeing.

 

We poured our time and energy into our center these last  4+ months in an effort to creatively and actively engage with the shifting realities of the present and anticipate the future. We worked harder than we’ve worked in years: to pivot, to prepare for a phased reopening, and to launch new programs adapted to post COVID realities.

 

But now…we must retreat.

 

With the recent announcement of the mandate to close up shop once again, and the ongoing uncertainty of…well…everything, we have decided to simplify our offerings:

 

1. We are closing Luma’s physical space, for now.

  • We will be closing Luma’s doors for wellness (it was SO amazing to see some of you safely for massage these past few weeks!), and also our boutique. This includes curbside pick-up.
  • We will be closing our brick and mortar center because it is expensive to keep it open. We will be closing until it is clear that a structured reopening is possible.
  • Stay tuned for a full-blown inventory sale coming soon. If you have favorite finds from Luma, this will be your opportunity to support those makers, and us!

 

2. We are continuing with online classes.

  • Our commitment remains to serve you for as long as we can. Keeping our class schedule as robust as possible is our main priority.
  • Our most recent schedule changes include: an early morning Qigong class with Andrew, a tender yet supportive goodbye to Robin that led to a welcoming back of Nadine on Saturday mornings and an expansion of classes with Elena, who was previously teaching only our Yoga for Cancer classes. We know changes, even good ones, can be activating yet we are so glad to maintain these offerings so that we can remain connected and supported.

 

3. We are continuing with outdoor classes.

  • Our partnership with MAH remains intact. Outdoor classes will happen a few times a week for as long as it continues to be safe to come together to social distance and practice outside.

 

4. We are keeping things simple.

  • We want you to have easy access to our classes and instructors. This includes our On Demand Library, so that you can take classes at your convenience if live-streaming doesn’t work for you, or isn’t quite enough.

 

5. We’re still here for you!

     

  • Stay connected with us by coming to class, joining conversations on Facebook and Instagram, emailing our management team, and leaving us encouraging messages! We love to hear from you.

 

Now, as you turn towards figuring out how to manage distance learning, keep your jobs, pay your bills, and shelter in place for an uncertain amount of time, without going stark-raving mad from either too much contact with your loved ones, or too much loneliness from the isolation, our skilled and kind teachers will keep showing up for you for as long as you keep coming to class.

 

So keep coming to class. You need it. They need you. We need each other.

Dear Community,

 

We are keeping a close eye on the climbing number of COVID-19 cases in our county as well as neighboring counties and are allowing data to guide our decision making when it comes to re-opening our center. With much deliberation and care for the most vulnerable in our community in mind, and with a keen eye towards detail we have decided not to reopen for in-studio yoga classes at this time. We have opened our wellness offering as these one on one appointments are much easier to manage in terms of COVID safety protocol.

 

To make this as safe and smooth for our employees, staff, and clients, please read through these policies and procedures in their entirety.

Wellness Registration & Cancellation

 

  • Wellness appointments can be booked starting July 6th, 2020.
  • We ask that you please pay for wellness appointments at the time of booking. This will help reduce time spent at the front desk after your appointment and our touchless check-in.
  • When registration opens, you can book online here.
  • You will need to fill out an intake form & additional COVID-19 waiver, which will be attached to your confirmation email. Please complete it at least 24 hours before your appointment time.
  • When you arrive, please wait outside. Your practitioner will text you when you can come in. Please make sure we have your phone number on file at the time of booking. Please practice social distancing when waiting outside.
  • If you are 15 minutes late or under, you may choose to receive the remaining length of your service; or you will be rescheduled. This is to mitigate the risk of overlapping with another client’s appointment. A 25% rescheduling fee will be applied.
  • If you need to cancel, please do so within 24 hours of your scheduled service time, however the more advanced notice is appreciated.
  • All no shows will be charged at full price.
  • Services cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the service.

 

How You’ll Help us Proceed with Care:

 

  • Use our hand sanitizer upon entry.
  • Each time you enter, sign our mandatory COVID-19 symptom & liability checklist. Please perform a self assessment at home prior to arriving for class so that you are attending symptom free.
  • Bring your own water bottle. Other items that come with you such as your shoes, phone, and keys may go into the cubby area. Our staff will sanitize between uses. Please do not bring any unnecessary items into the building. Clean storage bins for personal belongings will be provided for wellness clients.
  • Masks are to be worn in the building at all times.
  • Masks are required for both the practitioner and client for wellness appointments.
  • Masks are available for sale in our boutique if you need an extra or forget one.
  • To allow time for thorough cleaning, please do not linger after service.You can use the restroom and make purchases only.
  • One bathroom will be available for use, but will not be available for changing.
  • We will be disposing of any items left and not claimed in a 24 hour window.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and throw the tissue in the trash.
  • At this time, family (including children) and friends are not permitted to wait for you at Luma during your service.

How We’re Caring for our Community:

 

  • Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available upon entry, in the studio, at the front desk, in the restrooms, and in both treatment rooms.
  • Non-touch, covered trash receptacles will be available in all areas.
  • We will be running a HEPA Air filter which will filter out any virus-sized particles in the air potentially reducing the chance of transmission. In one pass HEPA filters can filter out over 99% of the coronavirus. There will be one filter in each wellness treatment room
  • Bathrooms and wellness rooms will be disinfected between wellness appointment.
  • All windows will be open during  wellness appointments, and the fan will be running between each appointment for optimum ventilation.
  • We will not be providing tea service or water during this time.
  • Employees and staff will be wearing masks at all times.
  • Virtual classes will continue to be offered so that those who choose or need to stay home can still access our classes.
  • Our cleaning schedule and checklist will be posted publicly for you to see.
  • We are open and available for questions, comments, and feedback about your experience in our center.
